ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Baltimore Orioles couldnt fully enjoy their strange victory over Tampa Bay. Ryan Flaherty and Nick Markakis both drove in a run after a power outage in the eighth inning and the Orioles beat the Rays 5-3 on Tuesday night. Baltimore announced after the game that catcher Matt Wieters, who went 2 for 5 as the designated hitter, will fly to Pensacola Florida Wednesday to have his sore right elbow examined by Dr. James Andrews. He had an MRI on Monday. "Hes been getting it treated for a while," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "We just want to make sure we know what were dealing with. Hell be back for the game. We just want to follow up. Hopefully hes catching for us (Wednesday)." The 19-minute delay came after a series of lights went out at Tropicana Field. The outage was soon after Steve Clevengers one-out double off Joel Peralta (1-2) put runners on second and third. After Steve Pearce walked, an RBI single by Flaherty and Markakis run-scoring grounder gave Baltimore the two-run lead. "The lights go out, but we picked up where we left off and got a couple runs in that inning," Flaherty said. "It was kind of a bizarre moment." Peralta was charged with two runs and three hits in one-third of an inning. "I made bad pitches and they hit them," Peralta said. "It had nothing to do with the lights." The Rays announced that Duke Energy, which provides electricity to the ballpark, said the problem was caused by lightning striking a nearby transformer. Both managers took the outage in stride. "I was just hoping it wouldnt mess up the air conditioners," Showalter said. "I think there was a grand opening somewhere and it knocked the lights out," Tampa Bays Joe Maddon added. Evan Longoria hit a two-run homer for the Rays, who loaded bases with one out in the ninth but failed to score against Tommy Hunter. The Orioles closer got a fly ball from Desmond Jennings and struck out Logan Forsythe to pick up his ninth save. "Tommy bent, but didnt break," Showalter said. Baltimore loaded the bases with no outs in the both fourth and fifth against Chris Archer, but scored just once in both innings on sacrifice flies. J.J. Hardy hit a sacrifice fly that tied it during the fourth before the Orioles went up 3-2 on Adam Jones fifth-inning fly ball. Tampa Bay pulled even at 3 when Ben Zobrist hit a sacrifice fly off Darren ODay (1-0) in the seventh. Longoria put the Rays ahead 2-0 with his fourth homer of the season off Chris Tillman in the first. Pearce cut the deficit to 2-1 with a third-inning homer. Tillman allowed three runs and five hits over six-plus innings. Archer gave up three runs and seven hits in five innings. NOTES: Showalter said 1B Chris Davis (strained left oblique) is making good progress but that its a long shot that he will be activated from the 15-day DL when eligible Sunday. "Hes moving in a good manner," Showalter said. ... Orioles LHP Johan Santana (shoulder) will make his second extended spring training start Saturday after a two-inning outing Monday. "He feels good today," Showalter said. "That was good to see." ... Markakis extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a first-inning single. ... Showalter said Orioles prospect Kevin Gausman (pneumonia), the fourth overall pick in the 2012 amateur draft, will pitch Saturday for Triple-A Norfolk. ... Tampa Bay recalled RHP Brad Boxberger from Triple-A Durham. ... Orioles RHP Bud Norris (2-2) and Rays LHP Cesar Ramos (1-1) are Wednesday nights scheduled starters. Brooks Robinson Jersey . The third-ranked Buckeyes were down eight points to Notre Dame with less than 2 minutes to play and their offence was nowhere to be found. Mark Trumbo Jersey . For the Blue Jays the time was Wednesday and the ace was R.A. Dickey. He stepped up. "I feel some responsibility as a stopper from time to time," said Dickey. http://www.theoriolesteamshop.com/Orioles-Chance-Sisco-Kids-Jersey/ . Pinch-hitter Tommy Medica singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Padres beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 in their first home game since Gwynn died of cancer Monday. Chris Tillman Jersey . "Last year we were in a ton of situations, late-game situations we couldnt pull out. Wed kind of fold under the pressure, get frustrated or let a big shot frustrate us," guard DeMar DeRozan said. Adam Jones Jersey .C. -- Steve Spurrier was much happier about South Carolinas improved performance than about his lastest career milestone.TURIN, Italy - Juventus scored twice in a minute to rescue a 3-2 victory at home to Olympiakos and keep its hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages alive.Paul Pogba netted his first Champions League goal in the 66th minute, moments after Olympiakos goalkeeper Roberto had turned the ball into his own net.Juventus could have improved the scoreline but Roberto finger-tipped Arturo Vidals penalty onto the bar in stoppage time.It was a very important match, Pogba said. We had to win and we did. Now everything depends on us. We missed a penalty but that happens in football. We have to continue to win and attack like we did tonight.Delvin NDinga had headed Olympiakos in front in the 61st to stun home fans, who started celebrating soon after when Juventus scored the quick double.Juventus dominated the match and went in front in the 21st from a trademark Andrea Pirlo free kick in his 100th appearance in the competition, but the lead was wiped out within three minutes by an Alberto Botia header. We had a tough time settling into a rhythm in the early stages of the match but after equalizing we improved a lot and I am perfectly satisfied with my players efforts, Olympiakos coach Michel Gonzalez said. Lets not forget that our rivals were Juventus.I am very proud of my players. We showed what we are capable of. Who knows, maybe that last save of Roberto might prove crucial and hand us qualification to the next stage.Atletico Madrid won 2-0 at Malmo to move top of Group A with nine points, three ahead of Juventus and Olympiakos.Olympiakos won at home against Juventus two weeks ago, leaving the Italian club knowing that anything short of victory in Turin could leave it in on the verge of elimination from thee group stage for the second straight season.ddddddddddddThe heavy rain made it difficult for both goalkeepers and Roberto had to make two attempts in order to grab a curling shot by Pogba. The Spanish keeper also had to react smartly to touch a long-range strike by Claudio Marchisio over the crossbar. There was nothing he could do about the opener, however.Pogba made a surging run but was tripped on the edge of the area, as Olympiakos conceded a free kick right in Pirlo territory. And the Italy playmaker didnt disappoint, curling an unstoppable effort into the top left corner. The lead lasted only until the 24th, when Gianluigi Buffon fumbled a cross and Botia headed in the equalizer from the resulting corner.Juventus should have immediately restored its advantage but Leonardo Bonucci headed another Pirlo free kick over the bar.Alvaro Morata then drilled inches wide of the right post, though he was tripped as he shot and could have won a penalty. On the stroke of halftime, the ball broke to Pogba in a good position but the France forward fired wide of the right upright. It seemed as if Juventus was going to be made to pay for its inefficiency in front of goal as Olympiakos took the lead against the run of play when NDinga headed home a free kick. But the Greek clubs advantage was short lived. Juventus levelled in somewhat fortunate circumstances when substitute Fernando Llorentes header took a deflection to bounce off the base of the left post before creeping into the net.Pogba, in his 100th appearance for Juventus, turned the match around just 46 seconds later, taking advantage of the ball rebounding off a defender who tried to backheel it toward a teammate and drilling it into the bottom left corner.
